Before ZenStream, my life looked very different.
My past life was highly structured and predictable. Naturally risk-averse, starting a brand wasn’t something I ever imagined. But life shifted.
So… I did a thing.
After stepping away from that chapter, my curiosity about aromatherapy turned into certification, and eventually ZenStream was born. In the beginning, the vision centered mostly around aromatherapy, focusing on scent, mood, and how aroma can influence the nervous system.
At the time, that felt like the thing.
But something unexpected happened pretty quickly:
I evolved.
This journey is teaching me it’s okay to trust my instincts instead of resisting them.
For most of my life, I felt pressure to “have it figured out.” Pick a lane. Stay there. But lately, growth looks less like a straight line and more like shape-shifting.
As I grow, my vision becomes clearer. What started as one idea slowly evolved into something that drives me even more.
I’ve decided I’m not going to fight that anymore. I’m just going with it.
As I write this, I keep thinking how strange it is that changing your mind can feel like failure instead of growth. But evolution is part of being human.
In any case, I realized botanical skincare genuinely lights me up creatively. ZenStream slowly shifted from an aromatherapy-focused brand into mindful botanical skincare, still rooted in aromatherapy.
And honestly, who knows where I’ll be a year from now?
As I’ve explored skincare education alongside my own personal experience, I’ve become clear on what works for me and what doesn’t. This approach isn’t for everyone, and skincare is never one-size-fits-all. This is simply the approach that resonates most with me.
I know there are others like me who want simple, natural, and affordable ways to care for themselves. If that’s for you, you are in the right place.
Not 14-step routines.
Not overflowing bathroom counters.
Not endless products for every square inch of our face and every hour of the day.
I’m a minimalist at heart, always pulled toward fewer, quality things.
Too much clutter, too many steps, and too many decisions genuinely stresses me out.
I approach skincare the same way I approach packing for a trip. I try fitting everything into a carry-on, even for long trips. I’m constantly asking myself:
Do I really need this?
Can I simplify this?
Can this serve more than one purpose?
That mindset bleeds into the way I see skincare. I want the fewest products I truly need with the fewest natural ingredients possible.
No fluff. No noise. No chaos.
The skincare industry constantly pushes us toward more: more launches, more steps, more products. My nervous system rejects that entirely.
I’ve learned skincare doesn’t always have to be so complicated.
Protect the skin barrier.
Keep it hydrated.
Protect it from water loss and the sun.
Sometimes one thoughtful product can serve multiple purposes.
Less really can be more.
So this is how ZenStream is evolving:
Toward skinimalism. Mindful botanical skincare that feels grounding instead of overwhelming.
I still don’t fully know where this journey leads.
For someone who started with zero experience building a brand, marketing products, or selling anything at all, creating ZenStream has been exciting, humbling, expensive, rewarding, chaotic, and deeply personal.
Your vision evolves. So do you.
Simple as that. Permission to self… granted.
Despite the pivots, uncertainty, and expensive lessons, I can honestly say this:
I’ve never felt more aligned with what I’m creating.
So yeah.
I did a thing. 🌿
