She’s Naked. And We Love Her That Way

I’m a certified aromatherapist. I love essential oils. I study them, formulate with them, and have built much of ZenStream around a deep respect for what they can offer.

Neroli, in particular, has my heart.

One of my first facial oils featured neroli, and it is lovely. I formulated it carefully, keeping the essential oil concentration well within recommended guidelines. I wanted even those with more sensitive skin to be able to enjoy the ritual.

But I learned something.

A formula can be thoughtfully and appropriately formulated, but some people with extra-sensitive skin will still shy away from essential oils on the face.

Fair enough.

And because I naturally prefer to formulate with fewer, purposeful ingredients, that realization sent me down another path.

Could I create a facial oil that was lightweight, nourishing, easily absorbed, beautiful enough for daily use, and naturally lovely to smell, without adding any essential oil?

Then I discovered plum kernel oil.

And, well…

I fell head over heels in love.

Not All Oils Are Created Equal

Carrier oils can sound like the quiet supporting cast of skincare, but they vary enormously in aroma, texture, absorption, stability, skin feel, fatty acid composition, and comedogenic rating.

That last one matters.

The comedogenic scale generally runs from 0 to 5 and is used as a rough guide to estimate how likely an ingredient may be to clog pores, with zero representing the lowest likelihood and five the highest. It is not a perfect predictor for every person’s skin, but it can be one useful consideration when thoughtfully building a facial oil.

For Plumberry Silk, I was looking at the bigger picture. I wanted oils that would work beautifully together to create a lightweight, silky feel, absorb easily, and keep the overall formula lower on the comedogenic scale.

Not an oil that sits heavily on the face announcing its presence for the next three business days.

Plum kernel oil gave me something else entirely unexpected: scent.

A naturally soft, beautiful aroma with an almost marzipan-like character. Enter raspberry seed oil.

And somewhere between the plum and raspberry, there was a dance.

That is where Plumberry was born.

So, What Does Everyone Do in The Bottle?

I don’t add ingredients simply to make a label seem fancy. Every oil in Plumberry Silk has a specific job.

Squalane brings exceptional lightness, glide, and a beautiful skin feel. It helps the formula spread effortlessly without feeling heavy.

Jojoba seed oil adds stability and structure while supporting that elegant, balanced feel I wanted for daily use. Its composition is uniquely similar to our skin’s natural sebum.

French plum kernel oil brings the silk. Its beautiful texture and naturally distinctive aroma became the soul of the formula.

Raspberry seed oil adds antioxidant-rich botanical support and joins plum in creating the subtle natural aroma that makes Plumberry Silk smell like… Plumberry Silk.

Four ingredients.

That’s it.

What Does That Mean for Your Skin?

Plumberry Silk is designed to help soften and condition the skin while supporting a smooth, supple feel and helping reduce moisture loss. Despite being an oil, the blend is intentionally lightweight and easily absorbed, leaving skin nourished and luminous without the heavy, greasy finish many people associate with facial oils.

It can be used morning or evening as the final step in your skincare routine to help seal in moisture, or applied on its own when your skin simply needs a little care. In the morning, a few drops can create a soft, smooth finish before makeup. At night, it becomes a simple final ritual before your head hits the pillow.

And because skin does not check the clock, there are no real rules here. A few drops after cleansing. A little pressed into dry areas. A quiet moment at the end of a long day.

The goal is simple: skin that feels soft, nourished, comfortable, and cared for.

Plumberry Silk is not about adding another complicated step to your routine. It is about making one simple step feel worth returning to.

Naked Was the Point

There is nothing added to convince you the formula is more luxurious than it already is.

And this is where my aromatherapy background matters, perhaps in an unexpected way. Loving essential oils does not mean I believe they belong in every product.

Sometimes thoughtful formulation isn’t about what you add. Sometimes it is about what leave out.

Plumberry Silk was designed to be a pleasure to use as part of your facial ritual, morning, evening, or whenever your skin is asking for a little care. Lightweight. Easily absorbed. Silky. Naturally aromatic.

She does not need to be dressed up.

She’s naked.

And we love her that way.
